Kurios: Now that is a curious word. It is the Greek word for Lord. This word is used throughout the New Testament to describe the sovereignty of Jesus Christ. It is a word that the members of All Saints' have chosen for a new ministry that has begun in our church. In choosing this word we affirm that our work is a vocation given to us by our Lord. Our resources, whether they be our building, our land, our talents and our treasure, are all gifts entrusted to us for a time by our Lord and are to be used for his purposes.

The members of All Saints' strongly believe that the church has been established by Christ to proclaim his Kingdom in word and action. When God separated the dry land from the waters he created the very spot on which our building stands. He created it for a purpose and through age after age he waited until the proper season to entrust it to us. Recalling Jesus' parable of the Talents in the Gospel of Matthew (25.13-30) it will not be enough for us to return his land to him as it was, but rather to put his land to use so that it multiplies and becomes fruitful.

It is to that end that we have begun this new ministry. The story of our work is coming soon, but the ministry itself is already moving forward and is thriving. Are you curious? If you can't wait for our next update, come visit us. We are excited to share our story, not because our story by itself is so important, but because the Lordship of Jesus Christ is at the heart of it. But because our story is a gift from our Lord, it is our joy.
